The Teacher by Freida Mcfadden

The teacher by freida McFadden

The Teacher by Freida McFadden book review. This will be the 3rd book that I’ve read by Freida. The first 2 books I read of hers, The Housemaid & The Housemaid’s Secret, were amazing. I rated them both 5 stars. I really like Freida’s writing style and the twists and turns she puts into her books. They are good if you want a good short psychological thriller with likable characters that will put you at the edge of your seat. But as I read The Teacher, it was good but not as good as the ones I’ve read.

The Teacher By Freida Mcfadden Overview

Eve is a math teacher at Caseham High School. Her husband Nate also works at the high school as an English teacher. The relationship seems perfect. Right?

In the previous year at the school, there was news spread around the school involving a teacher-student relationship. This involved a student named Addie, who is claimed to be a destroyer of lives.

But what does this have to do with Eve and Nate? Well, it’s not good.

Thoughts

I did not like the characters at all. Their personalities were terrible, and there was no character development. First off, Addie. She was naive and stupid; it was aggravating. Her actions were reckless and stupid. Like, I know she’s a teenager, but still.

Eve. Eve’s character wasn’t as bad as Addie’s, but she was just really annoying. She was 30 years old, acting like a teenager. Its like she had 2 personalities.

The “plot” was not what I was expecting but at the same time I was eager to get to the end to see how this whole thing would end. And I don’t want to spoil it but let’s just say Eve had A LOT of plot armor.

Overall, “The Teacher” by Freida McFadden wasn’t bad, but not as good as other books of hers that I’ve read. Like her other books, this book did have a lot of shocking moments. Characters: I hated. The plot: questionable. The ending: good. My rating for this book is 4/5 stars, only because of the characters and plot.
