Dreams Lie Beneath
Rebecca Ross’s “Dreams Lie Beneath” is an enchanting tale of love and rivalry set in the fantastical world of Hereswith. Clementine Madigan is destined to take over as the next warden after her father, but her fate takes an unexpected turn when two brothers challenge her for control of the domain. Fueled by determination, Clementine seeks revenge on one of the brothers, Phelan, but as their paths intertwine, long-kept secrets come to light. Together, they embark on a journey to protect their town and unearth a connection to a centuries-old curse that binds them together.
Thoughts And Rating
* Minor Spoilers Ahead *
In fantasy books, why is it always the red/auburn hair that the main characters have? It’s so cliché and overdone. But despite that, I absolutely enjoyed reading “Dreams Lie Beneath”. The pacing was just perfect, and the twists and turns kept me engaged throughout. The ending, while good, left me a bit unsatisfied. I mean, come on, when Clementine and Phelan claimed the throne and became duke & duchess, it just ends like that? I’m craving for more! I really hope there’s a sequel to show how they handle their newfound responsibility and the challenges they face. Despite the ending, I’d rate this book 4.5/5 stars!
Pros:

- Magical world building
