Behind Closed Doors : Book Review

Overview

“Behind Closed Doors” by B.A. Paris is a chilling psychological thriller that delves into the dark secrets lurking within seemingly perfect relationships. The story revolves around Jack and Grace, a couple who appear to have it all – wealth, beauty, and charm. However, as the narrative unfolds, it becomes clear that their marriage is far from perfect. Grace soon discovers that Jack is not the man he pretends to be, and she finds herself trapped in a nightmarish situation with no means to escape.

Behind Closed Doors Review

I almost did not finish it but I am glad I did! I’m not going to lie when I was reading the first few pages I was bored. I was like what’s going on this seems like a perfectly normal couple?- i did not read the book description fully, obviously.

The book switches back from the past and present in the span of 2 years. The past lets you see everything Grace goes through and how she got put in this position. The present shows how she plans to deal with Jack and get herself, and her adopted little sister Millie (who also has Down Syndrome), out of this situation. Grace gets smarter and more determined as she plans not to let Jack get his hands on Millie.

There wasn’t really any shocking moments in this book. The real surprise was given away within the first few pages of this book. But that’s okay because this book was still a page-turner as you’re rooting for Grace to get out of this nightmare “relationship”. The pacing throughout the book was…okay. It did get a little slow in the middle but other than that, it was good.

In the end though, I did really enjoy reading behind closed doors by B.A. Paris. I loved the build-up of the story throughout. But the ending could have been better; I wish there was more detail on how everything played out for Grace and Mille in the end. My rating for this book would be ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 stars!!!!
