the Housemaid’s secret follows Willa 4 years after the events in “the housemaid” take place. Willa is still a maid. She is finally on track to get her life together, well almost. She takes up another job to be a maid for the Garrick’s. But is told only 1 thing by Douglas Garrick: don’t go in the guest bedroom. Which is very….suspicious. Wilma starts to think there’s another woman that needs help because she’s been working for the Garricks for a month and has yet to see Mrs. Garrick.

As Willa starts to notice weird things about the Garricks, like weird behaviors and noises coming from the guest bedroom, Wilma decides she needs to investigate, which turns out unbeknownst to her to be a mistake.

Thoughts And Review

This was an incredible psychological thriller – truly one of the best I’ve ever had the pleasure of delving into! (And mind you, this is only the 2nd psychological thriller I’ve ever read). While this book is meant to be serious and enigmatic, it also manages to weave in a surprising element of humor, particularly in the dialogues. Willa, the main character, is not only remarkably realistic but also delightfully funny. Her wit is matched by her intelligence – just when you think she’s “innocent,” she astounds you by revealing some truly shocking information. This book completely blindsided me; what I initially thought was happening turned out to be something entirely different, creating a captivating experience throughout the entire story.

The housemaid’s secret has a lot of WTF moments, ARE YOU SERIOUS moments, and overall shocking moments. I would definitely reread this book; it was so good. Because I enjoyed this book, I rated it 5 stars.
